The FCO is currently running public diplomacy campaign called See Britain Through My Eyes, which is using the lead up to the Olympic Games in 2012 as an opportunity to help improve perceptions of Britain and British people overseas. To truly celebrate and portray Britain’s uniqueness, the campaign includes a world-wide competition dedicated to capturing personal stories from all corners of the globe about the modern UK.

As part of this campaign, 6 YMUK members took part in the competition to unleash our story telling talents and make a short film clip about ‘Britain Through My Eyes’. After some tips and advise on how to create effective scripts and shoot pieces-to-camera, and each pair created 3min clips aimed to help dispel myths about Britain - one of which has been selected to be produced professionally!!

So what’s next? Umamah Ahmed and Salma Dewan have been invited to produce the film professionally, along with the other two winners. The final videos will then be shown across the world!!
